This Was the Best Sunday Ever!
Hallelujah, He is risen!
“When the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, so that they might go and anoint him.
“And very early on the first day of the week, when the sun had risen, they went to the tomb. And they were saying to one another, ‘Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance of the tomb?’
“And looking up, they saw that the stone had been rolled back—it was very large. And entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, dressed in a white robe, and they were alarmed.
“And he said to them, ‘Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen; he is not here. See the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going before you to Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.'”
Mark 16:1-7 ESV
Can you imagine what it must have been like to witness Jesus rising from the dead?! Can you imagine what it will be like to one day see Him face to face?!
My heart’s deepest desire is to have Jesus embrace me and all my loved ones, and for us to hear the glorious words, “Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.” (Matthew 25:23, NKJV)
If we live in His promises, and the knowledge that being faithful until death will result in being rewarded with a crown of life (Revelation 2:10), doesn’t that change everything?
If we truly believe those words, deep in the depths of our souls, don’t worldly trials feel temporary and minor when held up to the light of the Gospel and eternity?
I love being alive. I love that God has trusted me (and that He’s trusting you) to share the Gospel. To live in honor to Him.
But you know what I love even more?
Knowing that one day, there will be no more sorrows, no more pain, no more heartache. Continual communion with Christ Jesus.
More beautiful than anything our wildest imaginations can dream.
Oh, the glories! Hallelujah!!
