Let Go of Three Items…
Welcome to the fourth day of 31 Days of Simple Organization! To read all the posts in order, visit the Overview Page.
I think most of us have items in our homes that are no longer useful, but that we’re hanging onto because the items were a gift and we don’t want to hurt someone else’s feelings by giving the gift away.
But think about it – when you walk into someone else’s house, do you inspect their home as you look for the trinket you gave them three years ago? No? Me either. And chances are, when you’re the recipient of said trinket, the person doesn’t even remember giving you the item.
Our possessions should be blessings, not burdens. We can appreciate the thoughtfulness of others, and appreciate the time and effort they put into selecting a present for us, but we don’t need to hang on to that gift forever.
Free yourself from the feeling of obligation to hang onto stuff that you no longer like or need!
Today’s Simple Organization Challenge: Put three items you’ve kept out of obligation into your vehicle. The next time you’re out, donate those items to one of your local thrift stores.
