Every time I see old photos of this girl, it melts my heart because she was just so cute. I also remember those days realistically and feel incredibly thankful that we made it through the toddler years!
She was not my easy one, but seeing the person she’s becoming – a young lady with an unstoppable will to do amazing things – is an incredible blessing that brings immeasurable joy.
Parents of strong-willed children, don’t give up! Don’t hate their will. Do teach them how to channel all that determination and energy for good things.
As a former strong-willed child myself, the thing I am most thankful to my mom for is that she refused to try to break me. She knew that God put that will inside me for a reason, and she refused to give up on me or to parent me the way other people judgingly told her she needed to.
Refuse to give up on your kids too.
If you have a strong-willed child you don’t know what to do with, please send me an email. I’ve written articles and read books so I can point you in the right direction, plus I have ssooo been there (sometimes still am!) so I will not judge you. 💖
